Business correspondence, plant inventories, financial records, copyright and trademark agreements, scrapbooks, patents, rules for workers, reports, and deeds for property in Collinsville and Hartford, Connecticut, related to an edge tool and weapons-making company. Of interest are several legal cases, one entitled "German Fraud" in which the company fought the misuse of their trademark in Germany, and one relating to damage from a flood in 1949, with a suit brought by the Hartford Spinning Company. Most of the patents in the collection were issued to Luke Chapman. Also of interest are notes on the Paris Universal Exposition, 1878, and a War Risk Insurance plan, 1949, and the reminiscences of Samuel W. Collins, 1867.
